Billy Fuller : Beak> founding member debut solo album
Billy Fuller.
You probably know him best as the founding member, song writer and bass player in the band Beak>.
Well we're here in your inbox to tell you that he's gone and made an absolutely cracking solo album and it's coming out on Invada on 3rd April.
'Fragments' is available to pre-order now on pink vinyl as well as digitally.

As a first taste of the album, opening track 'Rummer' (which was given a first spin by Marc Riley on BBCRadio 6 Music last night) is out today on all digital platforms and there's a video, too.
Billy says, "armed with a bass, a drum machine and a Korg micro preset this is my attempt at trying to be Kraftwerk making the theme tune for Ski Sunday!"
Watch the video for 'Rummer' below :
'Fragments' is moody, immersive, and utterly unbound. Across the album, kosmiche-inflected, hauntological electronica plays freely with melody, finding emotional resonance for our unpredictable times. Neu-esque repetitions and motorik grooves pulse beneath skewed electro textures, and occasional spoken-word passages drift in and out like transmissions from an unknown broadcast. Occasional flashes of psychedelic prog guitar cut through hazy atmospheres, edging the sound further toward Fuller’s own kind of hypnagogic pop, that is strange yet deeply human.
Every single track on this album was created by Billy alone, and his personality threads itself through the 16 tracks. He likens the process of compiling the album to making a cassette compilation for a friend when he was a kid.
Billy says :
“As I am primarily a bass player, I almost always use the bass to begin writing a new song and because of this process I sometimes found myself layering bass lines on top of each other to create a single piece of music. ‘Won A Synth’ is a good example of this - it’s four bass guitars and a drum beat. But I don’t have the ability or desire to show off my dexterity on the bass.”
He continues :
“I’m in the business of emotion.”
And we love it.
All copies of 'Fragments' bought from our webshop or Bandcamp will be signed by Billy.
